Skills 2.0 replaced the old skill system in update 2.5. EDGE, GRIT and RUSH are gone. A build that depends on keeping those buffs active cannot be copied directly into the current game.
Check the points you actually have
The release notes specify a maximum of 51 skill points, reached at Infamy level 150. That is a completed character's budget, not the starting budget. Open your skill editor and work within your available points before following a finished build. The official Skills 2.0 Simulator is useful for planning; compare its descriptions with the live game before spending points.
Rebuild around a job
As an editorial starting method, choose a job first: stealth utility, a weapon class, or keeping your crew alive. Read the prerequisites and base/aced effects in the current tree. Pick the effect you need, trace its prerequisites, then allocate the remaining points. Test one change at a time so you can tell whether it helped. This is a planning method, not a tested OVERKILL meta build.
Recheck the Hacker branch
Update 3.6 swapped and redesigned Playback and Security Expert. Playback handles camera looping; Security Expert covers marking and, when aced, drone hacking. Returning players may need to equip these skills again. Basic camera hacking no longer requires a skill, which does not mean every camera operation is free of skill requirements.
Test the whole loadout
Skills interact with your armor and weapon perks. Use the shooting range to compare weapon behavior, then test survival and stealth in a heist. A range result alone cannot establish how well a build handles incoming damage, detection or moving objectives. Recheck patch notes when an old video and the game disagree.
